J-Hope is a member of K-pop boy band BTS since 2013. BTS member J-Hope started mandatory military service quietly in South Korea on Tuesday. He is the second member of the group to do so.

Hobi kept a low profile about his enlisting. He was seen carried by a van that entered the venue for his military enlistment ceremony in the city of Wonju. The location is noted to be around 54 miles away from Seoul.

The singer wrote on his social, “I’ll be back later.” Jung Ho-seok posted a picture of his shaved head on Monday along with the above caption. His post was a cue that he has now become the second member of BTS to enlist in Army. Many fans commented on his post wishing him safe return after completing his military duties.

It is pretty clear from his post that he is going for enlightenment. Spokespeople for HYBE (352820.KS) has declined to confirm the details of his enlistment. HYBE is the owner of the band’s agency Bighit Music.

J-Hope, 29 (As of April 2023) is the second member of the popular septet to enlist after Jin. Jin is the oldest os the band and joined the military in December 2022. All able-bodied men in South Korea are required to enlist in the military for 18 to 21 months. The age requirement from 18 to 28.

The Group was offered a age relaxation of 2 year. It granted them the opportunity to perform for 2 more years. The age requirement to enlist in the Army in South Korea is between 18 and 28. Jin Joined the force at 30 and J-hope at 29.

The military enlistment of BTS members has drawn attention from not just fans but also politicians in South Korea. Some lawmakers also presented that idea of granting them an exemption from mandatory military service. Did to allow them to continue to perform instead. Looking at the second member being enlisted, it seems the government is abdament on the idea.
