Glee star Naya Rivera found dead in Lake Piru
As if, it was not enough with the 2020 and Corona Virus killing thousands of people, including many celebrities. One more celebrity was taken away this year, though it was not the virus. #Glee star Naya Rivera death case took the internet after she went missing. Naya was found dead after being MIA for 5 days on the 13th of July 2020. On the 8th of July 2020, the actress was declared a missing person. The reports were filed after her four-year-old son was found on the boat the actress had rented at Lake Piru.
Naya’s Disappearance
The day Naya and her son Josey went swimming in Lake Piru after renting a boat. They had arrived at the site in her black Mercedes G-Wagen, which was later found in the parking lot. As they did not return after their rental was over, a search for them was started at 4:00 p.m. PDT. They were 3 hours past their rental time. Another boater found the boy asleep alone on the boat. He was wearing a life jacket and there was an adult life jacket was discovered. There were no signs of Naya on the boat.
Josey told the investigators that he and her mother were swimming and his mother helped him climb back on the boat before disappearing under the water. According to the kid, her mother wasn’t wearing a life jacket. The lake is known for its strong, random currents and whirlpools that have been the reason for many deaths in the past.
Search
The Sheriff’s Office of Ventura County dismissed the search and resumed it the following day. On the search day, the lake was closed for the visitors. People across the country were tweeting about her disappearance and possible foul play. On 9th July, the sheriff’s department confirmed to NBC that Rivera was presumed dead. In the Naya Rivera death case, the department states that the rescue efforts would now shift to recovery efforts.
On July 11 and 12, her parents, brother, as well as former husband, joined the search team. Her co-star of Glee series Heather Morris also joined the search team the same day. More civilians were dissuaded from joining the search.
Lea Michele Deleted Her Twitter
Shockingly another Glee co-star, Lea Michele, deleted her Twitter account. She was receiving “trolling” messages about the disappearance, which were bothering her a lot. Other actors from the show rebuked the trolls with the remark that, their focus should be on Naya not on the response of other people.
Naya’s Dead Body Found
As the search began on 13th , at around 9:30 a.m, her body was found floating on the lake by the divers. All the rumored were shut 5 days after the day she had gone missing. She was officially declared dead on July 13. According to the sheriff’s department, they might have got caught in a current. They started they it was common in the area, particularly through the afternoon.
