This Thursday Twitter took away Blue Tick from big celebs including Beyonce, Ronaldo, BTS. The list doesn’t end here Pope Francis, Bill Gates and Soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo losing their verified status. Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt, Indian politicians like Yogi Adityanath, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi and cricketers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma among others have lost their verified blue ticks from their Twitter accounts! Elon Musk announced the application of subscription charges for blue tick on Twitter a few months after taking over the company! Only those Twitter users will have verified blue checkmarks, who are paying for Twitter Blue. Twitter Blue costs USD 8/month via the web and USD 11/month through in-app payment on iOS and Android.

In March 2023, Twitter posted from their official handle, “On April 1st, we will begin winding down our legacy verified program and removing legacy verified checkmarks.

To keep your blue checkmark on Twitter, individuals can sign up for Twitter Blue.”

These Celebrities Have Blue Tick Without a Subscription.

These stars publicly announcing that they would not sign up for the service but they still have their ticks. Stephen King also tweeted about not signing up for the service.
