Met Gala 2023 Theme and Celebrities
The Met Gala theme this year is dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld, the late designer and creative director of Chanel, who passed away in 2019. The theme is titled ‘Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty’, and the dress code is ‘In honor of Karl. Karl Lagerfeld was a regular attendee at The Metropolitan Museum of Art Costume Institute.
During 2021 and 2022, the Costume Institute hosted its first two-part exhibition, on the theme of American fashion. Part one, “In America: A Lexicon of Fashion,” opened in the Anna Wintour Costume Center on September 18, 2021, and “In America: An Anthology of Fashion,” opened on May 5, 2022, in the period rooms of the American Wing.

Blake Lively to skip Met Gala 2023?
Sadly, actress Blake Lively recently confirmed that she won’t be attending Met Gala 2023 due to her 4th child. Lively recently had her fourth child with Actor Ryan Reynolds in February 2023, which could have made it tough for her to attend the event so soon.
In addition, it is reported that One Direction members won’t be attending Met Gala this year as well.
Noted as one of the most popular Hollywood events and many famous celebrities from across the Globe attend the event. Popular K-pop band BTS members Jimin and RM are attending the event. K-pop girl group Blackpink’s Jennie and Rose are likely to debut at the mega event this year. Paris Hilton will also be attending the Gala for the first time.
From India, this year, Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Alia Bhatt are scheduled to appear among others. In addition, Deepika Padukone, Natasha Poonawala, Ishan Ambani, and Sudha Reddy might walk the red carpet this year. Chopra had earlier attended the Gala with her husband Nick Jonas. Alia Bhatt on the other hand is all set for her red carpet debut this year.

The event’s co-chairs are Michaela Coel, Dua Lipa, Penelope Cruz, Roger Federer, and Vogue magazine’s Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour.
